Chess Originated In India, From Where It Went To Persia And Then To Europe And The Rest Of The World. The Term Check Mate In Chess Means “To Attack An Opponent’s King In Such A Manner, That No Excape Or Defence Is Possible, Thus Ending The Game. Its Origin Is Persian Term “Shah Mat”(The King Is Dead), Which Was Changed To The Old French “Eschec Mat” And Then To The English ‘Check-Mate”
